Project Engineer - Rail Infrastructure Projects 
Location: Kent, with travel across South London and Kent
Contract Type: Full-time
Are you an experienced engineering professional ready to lead the delivery of complex rail infrastructure projects? We're looking for a Project Engineer to manage design and construction activities across a diverse portfolio, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental responsibility.
Key Responsibilities- Lead engineering design and construction for allocated projects, ensuring compliance with relevant Railway Group standards, formal specifications, and procedures.
- Apply knowledge of Network Rail standards and systems to maintain a cost-effective, high-quality, and safe approach to technical activities.
- Manage engineering activities to deliver affordable, timely, and environmentally responsible solutions.
- Oversee and develop the engineering team, including rostering and training to enhance skills and competencies.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Works Delivery Managers, Asset Teams, and Territory Maintenance Engineers (TMEs), including cross-boundary coordination with Sussex teams.
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety management systems, including briefing updates and changes.
- Provide expert project management advice on construction activities, ensuring alignment with CDM regulations and other relevant legislation.
- Apply risk assessment techniques (quantitative and qualitative), including HAZOP analysis, and manage environmental aspects in line with company environmental policies.
- Proven experience in engineering project management within the rail or infrastructure sector.
- Strong understanding of Railway Group and Network Rail standards.
- Excellent leadership and team development skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and regions.
- Willingness to travel across South London and Kent as required.
