Project Engineer- CRE Civils

Role: Civils CRE
Location: South Wales (Site visits required)
Job Type: 6 months initial contract
Rate: £450-£550/day

I have a really exciting opportunity for an experienced and proactive Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE) with a strong background in Civils and drainage to join a major rail client. You will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of Civil Engineering and drainage works, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. This is a pivotal role in supporting the successful execution of critical rail infrastructure projects.

Overview

The CRE will oversee civil engineering and drainage works on railway projects, ensuring design compliance, safety, and regulatory adherence.

Responsibilities

• Previously held the CRE title within a Civils role.
• Design and installation experience in Civils (Drainage).
• Background in contracting and civil engineering.
• Ability to manage and direct site staff.
• Knowledge of railway infrastructure work.
• Familiarity with CDM 2015 regulations.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Review technical plans, drawings and materials to confirm they are correct.
• Lead in ensuring Health & Safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• Experience as CRE in Civils projects, with a focus on drainage.
• Design and installation experience in Civils (Drainage).
• Background in contracting and civil engineering.
• Ability to manage and direct site staff.
• Knowledge of railway infrastructure work.
• Familiarity with CDM 2015 regulations.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Proven ability to review technical plans and implement safety and quality standards.
