Job: Project Engineer
Location: Weymouth, United Kingdom
Working: Office-based with occasional UK and overseas travel, mostly in Europe

Due to the nature of the role, please note the following:

You'll either hold or be eligible for UK security clearance.
Must be willing and able to travel both in the UK and overseas.

Introduction:

Matchtech has partnered with a leader in the Defence and Security sector, to find a talented Project Engineer who'll join their expanding team in Weymouth.

This permanent position is integral to the successful delivery of technically complex projects, ensuring compliance with rigorous industry standards.

What will I be doing?

As a Project Engineer, you'll play a key role in mobilising the WTB Project whilst overseeing audits, and ensuring the Trials, Verification, and Validation Plan is in place.

Key Responsibilities:

Support supplier onboarding, project mobilisation, approval audits, and maintain technical documentation throughout delivery.
Serve as the technical link between teams, providing expertise, resolving issues, driving corrective actions, and representing client needs on-site.
Promote project excellence, safety, and a mission-zero safety culture across the team and supply chain with consistent reporting.

What do I need to succeed in this role:

You'll have a degree in a relevant engineering discipline (preferably Mechanical or Electrical), active professional certification, and a solid grasp of engineering principles and procedures are essential.

To thrive in this role, you'll need experience in the following areas:

A solid engineering experience, paired with a strong background in project engineering, systems engineering knowledge, and familiarity with relevant UK codes, standards, and best practices.
An excellent technical and communication skills, including the ability to produce both technical and non-technical reports, deliver presentations, and confidently use MS Office applications such as Word and Excel.
Be self-motivated and reliable, with the ability to manage workloads, meet deadlines, conduct supplier inspections and audits, and carry out equipment acceptance checks.
