Are you an experienced projects officer ready to lead in varied projects involved within commercial and statutory waste removal services?

If so, we welcome your application to the Commercial Team within City Operations. You will be part of a service that delivers a wide range of projects across 1000+ contracts, 12,000+ garden waste customers, and new services to be introduced.

The Commercial Team for City Environmental Management is recruiting a Commercial Project Officer. This role is a key role within the team and will be involved within many current and future projects.

Current projects involve:

  • Account management of 1000+ commercial customers with commercial contracts, a mixture of internal and external accounts.
  • Overseeing the management of 12,000+ garden waste customers, controlled through a software system and a generic email inbox.
  • Sales and marketing strategies for different income streams.
  • Implementing innovative service updates relating to legislation changes.
  • Implementing cultural and behavioural change relating to IT updates.
  • Involvement in innovation and best practice across all areas.
  • Complaint investigations and responses; interacting with residents and members of the public.

Strengths in the following areas are essential:

  • Practical and software based organisational skills.
  • Communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask across different areas of the business.
  • Understanding of behaviours and tone expected from council officers.
  • Marketing strategy and implementation.
