With our advanced tech, the previously unsortable can now be sorted efficiently and effectively. Founded in 2019, we have grown rapidly ever since, with installations at leading waste management companies across Europe and the US.

We are on a mission to help our clients produce higher quality outputs - turning the world's waste into valuable resource. And our work has never been needed more. Worldwide only 9% of plastic waste is being recycled - every day, we are proud to work on making a meaningful difference towards a sustainable future.

Be part of it - come and join us!

Why choose to work at Recycleye? Our team works together to grow and succeed, driven by our shared values of ambition, curiosity, customer centricity, integrity and respectful ideation. We offer great benefits (which we think punch above our weight), including regular upskilling opportunities and enhanced parental leave.

Our hybrid work pattern is 3 days in office or onsite and 2 days remote working, and project based roles like this one typically travel to customer sites monthly.

We know that our mission will be achieved by having the most passionate, driven, talented, and all around best people on our team. So come and shape the future and help turn trash into treasure!

The opportunity

The Production Team is looking for a Project Design Engineer with at least five years of relevant experience to model sorting solutions for our clients, feedback problems during design, and highlight improvements that we can make to the product. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting edge optical sorting technology that is transforming the industry, collaborate with a dynamic team of engineers and technicians, and directly contribute to building solutions that solve real world challenges.

Responsibilities Overview
  • Mechanical design (3D CAD assemblies, 2D engineering drawings for fabrication, etc) to help create solutions and retrofit our technology into our client's facilities across Europe.
  • Help to ensure that projects are led and delivered effectively and at a very high pace. Follow-up with clients, send them reports and documents related to the project. Communicate well with clients and internal teams to work collaboratively.
  • Supporting all stages of the project lifecycle e.g. sales scoping, build, FAT, install, SAT, commissioning, after care.
  • Travel to different facilities as required by the project's needs; ad hoc site visits and attending installations once a month over weekends.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to improve manufacturability and sourcing.
  • Perform ad hoc design modifications of some of our standard products for specific use cases.
  • Drive the quality of our machinery, focusing on repeatability to create more impressive, efficient sorting solutions. You will be working on live projects and continuous improvement projects.
  • Generate and maintain technical documentation such as BOMs, assembly guides, operations / maintenance / installation manuals, version control logs.
  • Improving our product and processes to aid the company's scalability and quality, with a clear focus on documentation at the forefront.
  • Taking our product from v1 to v100 - meaning taking something that works to something that works everywhere.
  • Review our product from a value engineering perspective.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Electrical engineering.
  • Relevant experience (five years minimum) in building products/solutions in a fast paced environment.
  • A keen interest in solving the problems within the recycling industry.
  • Experience using Solidworks or alternative CAD, PLM, and producing drawings for manufacture.
  • Excellent skills in communicating technical information clearly to team members and key stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a multi disciplinary team.
  • Hands on attitude: you are happy to go and sort out problems at client locations if need be or to assemble one of our products and do some troubleshooting when necessary.
Benefits
  • An excellent salary that's both equitable and reviewed regularly.
  • Progression: we are growing rapidly and excited for you to make an impact as we do so.
  • Unlimited holiday.
  • A welcoming and inclusive team environment with monthly company wide socials.
  • Plenty of opportunities for training and personal development.
  • Healthcare coverage - Vitality is available from your very first day!

Even if you don't tick every box listed above but are motivated by our work and believe you can make a difference on our team, we'd really love to hear from you - so please do apply and drop us a note about what you bring!

We are particularly interested in hearing from you if your background enables you to bring a different perspective to our team.
