Progression Coach

Are you passionate about making a lasting difference to the lives of vulnerable adults?

We are looking for a Progression Coach in Bristol to join the Skills and Progression team. A safe and secure place to stay is often the first step away from homelessness. But many of our clients also need support to develop independent living skills, build confidence in their ability to achieve, improve their wellbeing, and raise their aspirations so they can move on from homelessness and rebuild their lives for good.

Over the last couple of years, the Skills and Progression team in the Learning Training and Employment Services directorate worked with clients and staff to develop a range of new tools and approaches to improve our offer for clients. Progression coaches play a key role in this process. They are a dedicated resource to services to support clients in developing independent living skills and accessing external learning and training opportunities.

With a strong focus on identifying a client's strengths, interests and goals the purpose of the role is to support clients in their services with independent living skills delivered on a 1-2-1 basis or in small groups. The role also involves supporting clients to take advantage of more structured external and internal opportunities including volunteering, training, education, apprenticeships and employment where appropriate.

Although a driving licence is not essential for this role, you will be expected to travel between various locations in Bristol.

About you

We are looking for an individual with a growth-led mindset, can-do attitude and interest in service improvement to help us refine a new progression coaching framework, which might include supervising 1-2 peer volunteers, and supporting the development of learning resources for staff and clients around independent living skills.
