Job Description
Programme Team Leader - Greater Manchester North

Role: Programme Team Leader - Greater Manchester North (Greater Manchester North programme). Location: Greater Manchester North. Salary: £29,030.

InHealth has been a proud supporter of the Diabetic Eye Screening Programmes across NHS England since 2011 and now offers fully managed services nationwide. To increase efficiency, we have built our own software system that adapts to meet employee requirements and improve user experience.

We are looking for a Programme Team Leader to play a vital part in delivering a high quality diabetic retinal screening service for people living with diabetes across our Greater Manchester North programme. You will work closely with the Programme Manager to support and guide a dedicated team of retinal screeners in a friendly, community based setting. You will also help coordinate staffing arrangements, including planning rotas and providing cover during periods of annual leave or sickness, ensuring a smooth and reliable service for patients.

Key Duties
  • Provide supervision, mentoring, training and, where necessary, challenge inappropriate behaviour to ensure a consistently high quality diabetic eye screening and grading service.
  • Assist team members in completing their Level 3 Diploma for Health Screeners Qualification and keep teams informed of new policies, procedures and working practices.
  • Assist the Programme Manager in the completion and dissemination of the screening and grading schedule, including the staff rota.
  • Coordinate the input of team members to ensure coverage is always provided for screening clinics and grading service.
  • Monitor clinic environments across the programme area to maintain clinical and organisational standards.
  • Contribute to the goals and objectives of the whole Diabetic Eye Screening Programmes Screening and Grading Team and demonstrate team leadership.
  • Oversee compliance carried out by team leaders, venue/screeners and assist where required.
  • Adopt a problem solving approach and use judgement and analysis to identify solutions to day to day operational challenges.
  • Maintain the highest standards of patient care and service delivery.
What you will need to succeed in this role
  • Diabetic Retinopathy Screening Diploma or Level 3 Diploma for Health Screeners.
  • Educational qualification to GCSE level in Maths and English.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective listening ability.
  • Numeracy skills.
  • Organisational and training skills.
  • Ability to organise self and teams and prioritise workloads.
  • Grader that meets internal quality assurance standards.
