Our animal health client has an opportunity for a Production Technician to join its team. This is a hands on role that would suit a recent graduate, or someone experienced looking to work at a lab tech level. This role work on a shift basis as detailed below. Due to the location of the site, you must have your own transport to get to site.

Job SummaryPerform manufacturing and packaging operations in compliance with established procedures, safety standards, and productivity goals. Ensure adherence to quality guidelines, including GMP and hygiene requirements. Actively contribute to process improvements and maintain a well organized, safe work environment.
Working Hours30 hrs per week
- Monday to Wednesday 07:30 to 18:00
- Off Thursday to Wednesday (including)
- Thursday to Saturday 07:30 to 18:00
- Off Sunday
- Monday to Wednesday 07:30 to 18:00
- Execute production plans while maintaining high quality standards.
- Identify and elevate issues that cannot be resolved independently.
- Continuously monitor and improve workflows, ensuring efficient order completion.
- Adhere to designated operational time standards.
- Identify and communicate the need for new equipment when necessary.
- Assist in drafting and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory standards (environment, quality, safety, GMP, and cost).
- Conduct In Process Controls (IPC), including environmental monitoring and logbook documentation.
- Complete batch reports and raise alerts for any deviations or safety concerns.
- Participate in internal and external training programs.
- Engage in regular performance discussions with supervisors.
- Suggest and implement short term process improvements.
- Conduct process confirmations as outlined by planning functions.
- Perform first level maintenance and changeovers, ensuring machines remain in optimal condition.
- Escalate any mechanical issues or deviations promptly.
- Contribute to site and department projects, including continuous improvement initiatives.
- Share best practices with colleagues and contribute to SOP updates.
- Train and mentor temporary workers and junior operators.
- Take ownership of personal development by identifying training needs and skill enhancement opportunities.
- Preferably a degree in a science related field.
- Prior experience in manufacturing or production is advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and production technologies.
- Understanding of raw materials, quality control, and production workflows.
- Familiarity with business planning and resource coordination principles.
- Awareness of regulatory compliance standards.
- Proficiency in IT tools supporting production operations.
- Exposure to lean manufacturing methodologies.
- Understanding of budget constraints and performance monitoring tools.
- Ability to contribute to and manage small scale projects effectively.
- Accountability & Drive: Maintain accuracy in work and demonstrate ownership through KPI tracking.
