We're looking for a Production Quality Engineer to support product and process compliance, working with the company quality management system, and ensuring compliance with AS9100 requirements/documentation. They will be part of the UK quality team and continuously improve operational yield through deployment of Lean Six Sigma (LSS) for assembly and test operations.

You'll likely spend 80% of time in production and 20% in the office, so you'll need to develop a good rapport with the shop floor production staff. It's estimated that you'll conduct 2-3 audits / month and initially the role will be reactive but becoming more proactive.

FAIRS/8D investigations will also be part of your remit.

Responsibilities

• Support product and process compliance, working with the company quality management system and ensuring compliance with AS9100 documentation.
• Continuously improve operational yield through deployment of Lean Six Sigma (LSS) for assembly and test operations.
• Spend about 80% of time on the production floor and 20% in the office; develop a good rapport with shop floor production staff.
• Conduct approximately 2-3 audits per month; role starts reactive and becomes more proactive over time.
• Handle FAIRS/8D investigations as part of the remit.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ideally an electronics background; mechanical will be considered.
• Industry experience from aerospace/defence or a similarly highly regulated sector.
• Experience with AS9100, 13485 or possibly 17025.
• Lean/Six Sigma exposure/knowledge.
