Production Operator

Location: Fakenham, Norfolk

Salary: £35,000 per annum

Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off (6:00 AM - 6:00 PM)

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Production Operator to join our team at our facility near Fakenham. In this role, you will support the wider production team in creating high-quality malted ingredients. Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Plant Operations: Operate plant equipment to optimum performance levels to meet the production schedule. This includes transferring grain through key production stages like Steeping, Germination, and Kilning.

• Quality & Process Control: Follow production process cards exactly according to the recipe. Take routine samples for visual inspections and moisture content analysis, documenting all findings accurately.

• Maintenance & Engineering: Work closely with the engineering department to report faults using our CMMS system, helping to minimize production downtime.

• Hygiene & Food Safety: Maintain production areas to high hygiene standards to meet food safety and HACCP plans. Duties include day to day cleaning tasks such as sweeping and pressure washing, as well as completing cleaning documentation.

• Health & Safety: Maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues by adhering to Safe Systems of Work, wearing correct PPE, and reporting any accidents, near misses, or hazards.

What We Are Looking For

Essential:

• Experience: Previous experience working within a factory or manufacturing environment.

• Skills: Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a fast-paced environment to meet strict process timings.

• Availability: Fully able to commit to a 4 on, 4 off day shift rotation.

• Traits: Enthusiastic, curious to learn, resilient, and adaptable to change.

Desirable (But not essential):

• Previous experience in food production.
