Job Description
Mechanical/Electro-Mechanical Assembler
Job Purpose
To assemble simple and complex mechanical and electro-mechanical components in accordance with engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions, as directed by the Line Manager, and in line with company procedures and policies.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Complete all tasks safely and in accordance with company Health & Safety policies.
- Demonstrate full competence in the safe use of various hand and bench tools.
- Attend any training courses required by the company.
- Interpret and understand engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Maintain a strong focus on quality in all mechanical/electro-mechanical assembly tasks.
- Follow verbal instructions from team members and the Line Manager.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Behave openly and honestly within the working environment.
- Undertake customer and supplier visits by car when required (full driving licence and valid passport required).
- Produce components to the quality standards required by the company.
- Standard education level including English, Maths, and a science subject.
- Experience assembling simple and complex mechanical/electro-mechanical components with strong attention to quality.
- Defence sector experience (preferred but not essential).
- Extensive use of hand tools, including torque drivers.
- Experience with ESD procedures (preferred but not essential).
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer literate (MS Office).
- Patient and effective problem-solving ability.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and documentation.
- Skilled in the use of various hand and bench tools for high-quality assembly work.
- Strong quality focus throughout all build processes.
- Understanding of principles required to assemble simple and complex tasks.
- Knowledge of how to use a wide selection of components to assemble quality sub-assemblies and final assemblies.
- Understanding of the use and purpose of Loctite and adhesives.
