Production Operative - Part Time

Job Overview

Manpower UK is seeking a Part time Production Operative to work at our client's site near Peffermill, Edinburgh. This factory based position involves working on the production line, packing food items, cleaning equipment and performing general warehousing tasks.

Working Hours & Pay

Shifts are flexible: 1-3 shifts per week are available across Dayshift (06:30-14:30) or Backshift (14:30-22:30), depending on weekly requirements.

Hourly rate: £12.71, rising after 12 weeks. Overtime after 8 hours is paid at 1.5 base rate. All breaks are paid and weekly pay is provided.

Duties

• Check products for quality on the production line and remove defective items.
• Keep machines supplied with packaging materials and labels.
• Load products onto pallets; some heavy lifting may be involved.

Requirements

• Good observational skills to spot defective products.
• Patience for repetitive tasks.
• Ability to work quickly to meet production targets.
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work independently.
• Ability to follow strict health and safety guidelines and quality procedures.
• Completion of an online health and safety induction before commencing work. Successful completion includes a 2 hour payment for induction time after completing one full shift.
