Arla Foods Oswestry are looking for a proactive Production Operative to join the team on a permanent basis. You will play a pivotal role in assisting with the efficient running of the packing lines in the production area within a cheese packaging site.

At our Arla Oswestry site we pack circa 79,000 tonnes of cheese annually, 1,620 tonnes per week, including branded products such as Castello, BOB and Arla Pro, as well as private label for Waitrose, M&S, Asda and Aldi.

The successful candidate will work a 3 on, 3 off, 12 hour shift pattern that includes both day and night shifts. They will contribute to the quality and technical areas of the Production team to produce the highest quality cheese products in a reliable and cost effective way. Duties will include:

• Operate production equipment
• Effectively run packing lines using production IT systems
• Perform simple maintenance tasks
• Maintain strict food hygiene and health & safety standards within the department
• Monitor equipment performance and correct or raise issues before they become problems
• Report safety issues to maintain proper safety conditions of equipment and surroundings

What you'll need

• Ambition & drive
• Previous experience working in a similar environment would be beneficial but is not essential
• Previous experience with food safety regulations and practices would be beneficial but is not essential
• All training and support will be provided during your induction period
• A motivated team player who can work on their own initiative
• An attitude of seriousness about quality and a willingness to work hard to achieve it
• A good attendance record and a willingness to learn further skills
