CONTRACT TYPE: Fixed-term contract / Attachment - 27th October 2025 to 26th March 2026
DEPARTMENT: BBC Scotland Sport
LOCATION: Glasgow Pacific Quay - Hybrid (at least 3 days a week).
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £42,000 - £50,667 per annum depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

BBC Sport Scotland serves audiences across digital, television and radio covering football, rugby and a wide range of other sporting events and personalities. We are the home of Scottish football with rights to domestic, European and international football covering men and women. Scottish football, and then some. Premiership, men and women, as well as Off the Ball and a series of successful podcasts.

WHY JOIN THE TEAM
BBC Sport Scotland has been commissioned to produce a third series of the popular 'Icons of Football' format. The series will be 6 x 30' episodes for the BBC Scotland channel, covering the careers of six different Scottish football legends who have made their mark on the game using key interviews, rich archive, newspapers and stills.


YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
You will have line manager responsibility for a PC working alongside you. You will work with the Series producer in keeping to budget and in the day to day running of the series.
The post will start on the 27th October until the 26th March and this will allow some crossover with the current post holder.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Current knowledge of the BBC and the wider industry.
  • Considerable experience of delivering a range of productions across a range of output or genres, on time and on budget.
  • Experience of monitoring and managing health and safety on a production.
  • Able to manage interpersonal relationships effectively and operate with others in a diverse team.
  • Demonstrates strong organisational and planning skills and manages conflicting demands to meet deadlines.


DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:

  • Thorough knowledge of the market for various types of supplier and resources
  • Able to proactively devise new ideas for working more efficiently.
  • Equipped to interpret an editorial brief, explain commissioning requirements and suggest ideas for maximising the value from productions.
