Position: Production Manager
Location: Labman HQ, Seamer, North Yorkshire
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 (based on experience)

The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Production Manager to oversee and lead production operations within our bioprocess automation business unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in advanced manufacturing processes, lean principles, and team leadership within a high-tech or robotics environment. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality production of robotic systems and components.
What you will do
- Lead daily manufacturing operations to ensure production goals, quality standards, and safety regulations are met or exceeded.
- Develop and implement manufacturing strategies, production plans, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and quality assurance teams to optimise product design for manufacturability.
- Establish and monitor KPIs related to production efficiency, downtime, quality, and labour utilisation.
- Ensure adherence to lean manufacturing principles and drive waste reduction initiatives across the facility.
- Manage budgets, production schedules, and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
What you'll bring
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience, within the robotics, automation, or high-tech manufacturing sector.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing
- Proven experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and production planning software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
