Job Description

Job Title: Production Line Assembly Operative

Employment Type: Temp to PermanentLocation: Wigan, WN5Salary: £14.00 per hour

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:20 - 16:00

  • One 30-minute unpaid break
  • Two 10-minute breaks (one paid, one unpaid)

Holiday Entitlement:28 days per year, of which includes bank holidays.Plus, enjoy one additional day's holiday for each full year of service (up to five extra days).

About the Role:We are looking for a reliable and safety-conscious Production Line Assembly Operative to join our team in Wigan. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role ideal for someone who is technically minded and thrives in a manufacturing environment. The role starts as temporary with a view to becoming permanent for the right candidate.You will be primarily responsible for running a rotational moulding machine and ensuring that all products meet the required specifications. This is a two-person operation, though you will need to work independently during periods of absence or holiday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor a rotational moulding machine
  • Ensure products meet quality and specification standards
  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment and follow all safety protocols
  • Support maintenance with minor repairs and upkeep of machinery
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform manual handling as part of daily tasks

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience working on a fast-paced production line
  • Strong verbal, written, and basic mathematical skills
  • A safety-first mindset and good awareness of workplace hazards
  • A technically minded individual who can assist with machine maintenance
  • A flexible and proactive approach to work with a can-do attitude
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
  • Experience with rotational moulding machinery (desirable but not essential)
  • Counterbalance forklift licence (desirable but not essential)
  • Experience with continuous improvement processes
