Production Engineer

Summary: We are looking for a detail-oriented Production Engineer looking to develop their career in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for our downstream engineering function in the UK, as well as supporting our Engineering & Manufacturing teams in Romania.

Reporting to: Engineering Director

Responsibilities and duties

Elements of the role will include:

• Optimising new product implementation into manufacturing, transferring a detailed scope of works to drive the OLE performance
• Providing full technical support for both UK & Romania manufacturing sites
• Working with upstream engineering to maximise the conversion of new business into a profitable repeatable process
• Updating and inputting into our control tools
• Proactively monitoring and minimising the 8 wastes
• Developing a strong working relationship with production managers
• Contributing to factory design and future growth planning
• Directing, encouraging, and mentoring our downstream engineering team
• Improving the transfer of information & communication between upstream & downstream teams
• Cross-training the team in areas such as tooling, testing, and manufacturing/costing process
• Taking responsibility for developing learning in areas such as continuous improvement and new manufacturing techniques, processes & tooling
• Continuing to learn technical subjects that may benefit Production Engineering within GTK

Skills and qualifications

A successful candidate will have:

• Experience within a similar Engineering role; advantageous if this is within the cable assembly industry.
• The ability to work and build relationships with stakeholders across the business.
• Excellent problem solving & communication skills
