Specialised in the production of injectables and neurological active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), the site meets the highest standards, holding GMP and ISO 13485 certifications. Ideally located just a few kilometers from Lake Geneva and the Portes du Soleil ski area, it offers an exceptional working environment.
Due to an upcoming retirement, we are seeking our future Production Director (M/F) to join the site s leadership team.
Production Director
Your Mission
As Production Director, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the availability of high-quality injectable hyaluronic acid products. As a member of the site s Management Committee, you will contribute to defining and steering the industrial strategy, driving operational performance and embedding operational excellence.
You will have full responsibility for production activities and related industrial functions in a demanding and highly regulated environment. Your leadership will foster sustainable performance, talent development and a strong Quality culture.
Scope of the Role
The current scope includes:
- An extractive chemistry unit
- A prefilled hyaluronic acid syringe production unit
- The logistic sector
Depending on candidate profiles, this scope may be adjusted. The core focus is still the production of prefilled syringes.
Key Responsibilities
Operational and Strategic Leadership
- Oversee production to meet QQCDSE standards (Quantity, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, Environment).
- Define and implement the site s production strategy in alignment with Group goals.
- Drive operational excellence initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, OPEX) to enhance quality, productivity, process robustness and profitability.
- Contribute to the industrial master plan, capacity planning and transformation projects.
Leadership and Organizational Management
- Lead and develop the industrial organization, with a strong emphasis on coaching and empowering management teams.
- Build team capability, engagement and performance, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Quality, Compliance and Risk Management
- Play a key role in strengthening the site s Quality culture, working closely with the Quality Director, Technical Director and their teams.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements within your scope.
- Actively manage deviations and investigations (CAPA, non-conformities).
- Anticipate and prepare for regulatory inspections.
Research & Development
- Maintain regular interactions with the Group s R&D departments to support innovation and industrialization.
Financial Management and Investments
- Manage the production budget and optimise allocation of human, technical and financial resources.
- Participate in industrial investment projects, including equipment acquisition and facility modernization or expansion.
Health, Safety and Environment
- Demonstrate exemplary behavior in occupational health and safety.
- Support initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of industrial activities, in line with EHS commitments.
Your Profile
- Industrial pharmacist or engineer by training (Master s or PhD in chemistry, biotechnology, production or equivalent).
- Minimum 15 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including significant expertise in injectable manufacturing.
- Ideally, experience in Supply Chain and chemical production, particularly in active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).
- Proven experience in leading industrial organizations, including managing managers.
- Performance oriented, efficiency and profitability mindset, with a recognized Quality culture.
- Inspirational leadership, ability to challenge the status quo and drive change.
- Comfortable operating within a Management Committee and contributing to strategic decisions.
- Full professional ability in French and English; German is an advantage.
- Lean Six Sigma certification (Green/Black Belt) or equivalent is a plus.
