Production & R&D Technician vacancy in Chippenham - Wiltshire (126DM)

We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic Production & R&D Technicians to support the design, development, and manufacture of advanced composite components. This role involves working with cutting edge composite materials across both production and research environments. Technicians will work directly with composite materials, including resins and fibres, playing a key role in the creation of high performance components. Our client operates across the automotive, aerospace, and defence sectors, delivering high performance composite solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manufacture components using composite materials (e.g. carbon fibre)
  • Work with resins and fibre materials during lay up and production processes
  • Support R&D activities including prototyping and testing
  • Prepare materials, moulds, and tooling for production
  • Operate manufacturing equipment and follow technical processes
  • Inspect, trim, and finish composite parts to quality standards
  • Work collaboratively with engineers and production teams
Candidate Requirements
  • Previous experience working with composite materials (e.g. carbon fibre, fibreglass)
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high quality work (no cutting corners)
  • Understanding of composite manufacturing processes (lay up, curing, moulding, etc.)
  • Hands on, detail oriented, and comfortable in a technical environment
  • Entry level candidates: No prior composite experience required; background in manufacturing, engineering, or a similar hands on role beneficial; strong attention to detail and willingness to learn; commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and precision
Salary & Progression
  • Experienced candidates can earn into the £40,000+ range
  • Entry level candidates typically start between £28,000 - £33,000
  • Clear progression opportunities as skills and experience develop
