Job Description JOB TITLE: Product Owner SALARY: £59,850 - £77,000 per annum LOCATION: Edinburgh HOURS: Full-time - 35 hours WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our Edinburgh office. About this opportunity We're looking to recruit a Product Owner to work in our Digital Finance Lab. The Lab sits in the Payment Services Platform (PSP), where our mission is to provide compliant and efficient payments capabilities for the Group and drive innovation to enable customers to move money confidently, quickly, and securely.The team works closely with industry groups and regulators to help Britain prosper while protecting the UK, the bank, and customers. What you'll do The Product Owner (PO) will play a crucial role in product development, assisting the Lead Product Owner and the broader feature team to: Inspire the team with energy and passion - these are new product areas that require vision to get off the ground Bring a focused customer and data driven approach, using evidence-based decision making to explain your why Be experienced and skilled at new product development and be able to communicate the product benefits to both internal and external stakeholders alike. Be confident defining product MVPs and creating a valuable but achievable product backlog and roadmap Be able to lean on your past experience working with technical and cross functional teams to deliver fast paced change Influence by building trust and empowering the team with responsibility. Be happy working in the unknown - we're breaking new ground in this lab and so comfort in ambiguity is key What you'll need Experience working in new product innovation or a start-up environment Previous experience as a Product Owner within a high change environment Ability to apply agile methodologies to optimize innovation development and delivery Ability to translate a high-level product vision into clear and tangible deliverables for our engineering team, including story maps and user stories. Ability to demonstrate you are confident and experienced driving the product roadmap and creating an effective product backlog Passionate and inspiring leadership skills, empowering teams to tackle business problems and create customer value through delivering excellent, innovative solutions in response to customer needs Strong problem-solving and stakeholder management skills. Ability to influence alignment up and down the organisation and explain prioritisation decisions. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively And experience in any of the following would be really useful Experience in Digital Finance - be that Crypto, Stablecoins, Digital Assets, DLT and / or Blockchain Experience working in new product innovation Hands-on experience of financial management processes (e.g. managing project or team budgets) Payment services /processes experience within a Financial Services environment.
