Job Description

We have partnered with our financial services client in their search for a detail oriented, innovative Product Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Product Analysis and Backlog Management

  • Collaborate with the Product Owner to fully understand features, epics, and business priorities.

  • Ensure squads clearly grasp the business value of epics and how they translate into actionable user stories.

  • Conduct structured analysis (requirements gathering, process mapping, gap analysis) to support product decisions and backlog refinement.

  • Break down epics into clear, actionable user stories aligned with the product roadmap.

  • Maintain a prioritized product backlog that reflects current business goals, user needs, and strategic direction.

  • Refine user stories 2-3 sprints in advance, ensuring they meet INVEST criteria.

  • Identify and resolve potential blockers early, working with stakeholders to streamline the refinement process.

  • Assess when stakeholder input is required for refinement and coordinate with the Product Owner to engage appropriately.

  • Collaborate with Quality Engineering to align on testing strategies and acceptance criteria.

  • Work closely with Business SMEs, developers, and stakeholders to refine requirements and ensure user needs are addressed.

  • Facilitate workshops to gather requirements, balancing comprehensive input with feasibility and priorities.

  • Plan and manage UAT resources, ensuring smooth execution and well-documented outputs.

  • Develop and maintain training materials, supporting users during rollout and adoption of new features.


Agile Delivery and Execution

  • Present prioritized and clearly defined backlog items during Sprint Planning to support team commitment.

  • Serve as the key point of contact during development and QA, providing clarity, removing blockers, and adjusting requirements as needed.

  • Support feature implementation by facilitating ongoing refinements to meet expectations.

  • Oversee smooth system configuration and implementation, ensuring alignment with business requirements.

  • Document finalized requirements and update change requests accordingly.

  • Lead Sprint Review demos and gather actionable feedback.


Process Improvement and Metrics

  • Perform product and data analysis to identify improvements, track outcomes, and report benefits aligned with OKRs.

  • Conduct financial and cost-benefit analysis with stakeholders to guide prioritization and decision-making.

  • Use Agile ceremonies and process reviews to uncover inefficiencies and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Track sign-offs and deployment details to ensure transparent cross-team communication.


Key Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in Product or Systems Analysis, with a focus on backlog refinement, Agile delivery, and stakeholder collaboration.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a strong analytical background and ability to conduct financial/cost-benefit analysis.

  • Skilled in assessing business needs, challenging assumptions, and translating findings into detailed user stories.

  • Strong working knowledge of Agile methodologies, including hands-on experience with sprint planning and backlog management.

  • Familiarity with insurance industry practices, regulatory requirements, and market dynamics.

  • Technically adept with an understanding of development workflows, constraints, and opportunities.

  • Experience with analytical tools such as SQL, Excel, Tableau is a plus.

  • Capable of managing multiple priorities, navigating dependencies, and making decisions amid uncertainty.

  • Proficient in tools like JIRA, Confluence, and Miro.
