Product Director


Founded in 2013, Indie Campers has revolutionized the road trip experience, offering flexible and customizable Recreational Vehicle ("RV") travel options through its easy-to-use platform and network of more than 80 locations across 23 countries worldwide. The Company envisions becoming the world's road trip platform. Headquartered in Lisbon, Portugal, Indie Campers has more than 500 employees across the globe and intends to continue to invest significantly to strengthen and grow its team.


In July 2024, Indie Campers announced the successful completion of a Series B funding round, later increased to a total of €62 million. This investment will support the key pillars for growth; further expanding our international footprint, maturing our digital product & Tech infrastructure, scale teams and allow us to explore inorganic growth (M&A) opportunities.


Role Overview


As part of this pioneering business, the Product Director will support the CTO in driving product innovation to meet the ambitious plans in establishing Indie Campers as a true global platform. The Product Director will seek to develop all IC products and experiences as part of a true platform to meet the company's goal of expanding its global network, sales and 3rd party alliances.


As Product Director you will oversee a team of Product Managers across all key business lines including E-commerce, Client Experience, Service Ooperations (Rental & Support) & Commercial Operations the (Selling RVs, market place management & ancillary products). You'll also be responsible for the Data Analytics discipline in Indie Campers.


  • E-commerce - development of the Indie Campers web, mobile, digital and marketing experiences and ultimately business growth
  • Client Experience - design and development modern & informative client journeys, before, during and after the road trip.
  • Service Operations (internal portals)- driving process design, performance and development of all tools and assets required to manage global road trip operations.
  • Commercial Operations - support the development of product within the RV selling, market place & ancillary products.


Your team includes product Managers, designers and analysts working in partnership with the remaining business stakeholders across engineering, revenue operations and marketing.


Responsibilities


  • Build and deliver the product road map in line with company strategic goals.
  • Manage and mentor a team of Product Managers, product designers and analysts, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and grow a talented product team (8-10 individuals) in optimizing and scaling a global road trip platform.
  • Lead and grow the talented data analytics team (4-5 individuals) in leading the adoption of a data-centric business management
  • Develop and execute product strategies aligned with business objectives and market trends.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and prioritise product features and enhancements.
  • Drive the development of the e-commerce platform, including website, mobile app, and digital marketing initiatives.
  • Client experience, including the client area, mobile application, loyalty program management, and customer interactions service operations, including all the internal tools and dashboards used to manage a global scale of rv rental operations
  • Support commercial operations, including developing internal tools and dashboards used to manage the sales of Indie Campers RV vehicles, marketplace hosts, and all ancillary products.
