Product Development Engineer - Manufacturing. Co Antrim

Energis is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our growing manufacturing client for a Product Development Engineer. The role offers a 4 day working week.

This is an exciting opportunity to work for an innovative manufacturer committed to designing and developing market-leading products. You'll play a key role in bringing new products from concept through to production, while supporting continuous improvement across manufacturing processes and product development.

Applications are invited from graduates with a placement year, as well as more experienced candidates.

The Role

Working closely with the engineering and production teams, you'll be involved in:

  • Designing and developing new and existing products.
  • Producing CAD/CAM drawings and technical documentation.
  • Supporting prototype manufacture, testing and product validation.
  • Creating and improving manufacturing processes using LEAN principles.
  • Maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation.
  • Liaising with suppliers, customers and production teams.
  • Supporting the commissioning and optimisation of new manufacturing equipment.

About You

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • At least 1-2 years' experience in a design or product development role.
  • Experience using CAD/CAM software (Solid Edge or similar).
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • A proactive approach with an interest in manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with automation, robotics, sheet metal manufacturing or CNC programming would be highly advantageous.
