Role Overview

As a Product Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for defining, implementing, and maintaining product assurance activities for space-grade electronic equipment. You will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and customers to ensure compliance with space industry standards and customer requirements, from design through delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement product assurance plans in line with customer and space industry standards (e.g. ECSS, ISO, or equivalent).
• Support design reviews, ensuring quality, reliability, safety and dependability requirements are addressed.
• Convene, chair, take minutes and follow up on actions at PA reviews for key project milestones.
• Oversee manufacturing and assembly processes, ensuring compliance with approved procedures and workmanship standards.
• Manage non-conformances, including root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions.
• Review and approve documentation, including procedures, inspection plans, test reports and certificates of conformity.
• Support supplier quality assurance, including audits, assessments and supplier performance monitoring.
• Participate in and support internal and external audits.
• Perform hardware inspections and complete quality inspection reports.
• Ensure configuration control and traceability of materials, components and processes.
• Liaise with customers and external stakeholders on all product assurance matters.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across quality and assurance processes.

Qualifications & Skills

• Degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years' experience in a Product Assurance, Quality or Reliability role, ideally within the space, aerospace or high-reliability electronics sector.
• Strong knowledge of space or aerospace standards (e.g. ECSS, ESA requirements, ISO 9001/AS9100).
• Understanding of electronics manufacturing, PCB assembly, testing and inspection processes.
• Experience with non-conformance management, risk assessment and problem solving methodologies.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and test requirements.
• Strong attention to detail with a structured and analytical approach.
• Excellent English communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
