Procurement Engineer

Our client designs, builds, and delivers complex offshore equipment to enable safer and more efficient offshore operations. From subsea trenchers to offshore handling systems, their custom engineering solutions support clients across the renewable energy and oil & gas sectors.
We're now looking for an Engineer to join their growing team, someone who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and is eager to take ownership not only of engineering design but also of the critical procurement decisions that bring their designs to life.
Your Role
As an Engineer, you will play a central role in the entire lifecycle of offshore equipment projects; from concept to commissioning. You'll collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to develop bespoke solutions tailored to client needs.
Besides that, you will be making key purchasing decisions, selecting suppliers, negotiating costs, and ensuring components align with your design intent. This integrated approach gives you full accountability and enables a deeper connection between engineering and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Design mechanical, hydraulic or structural systems for offshore equipment
- Specify and procure components directly from suppliers
- Liaise with fabrication partners and subcontractors during build and integration
- Work closely with project managers and fellow engineers to meet deadlines and technical targets
- Support on-site commissioning and testing where required
What We're Looking For
- A degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
- 2-5 years' experience in an engineering environment (offshore or heavy industry preferred)
- A practical mindset with the ability to take projects from concept to real-world delivery
- Confidence in taking commercial decisions, supplier selection, cost negotiation, etc.
- Strong communication skills and team spirit
