The Private Client Tax team provides specialist tax compliance and advisory services to high-net-worth individuals, business owners, and complex private clients across a wide range of sectors.
The Role: Private Client Tax Senior Manager (Scotland)Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and support the compliance team in all aspects of a client portfolio, ensuring deadlines and client demands are met.
- Take ownership of client relationships, strengthening networks with clients' wider professional advisers and identifying opportunities to support clients.
- Play a key role in the compliance management team, supporting day-to-day operations and the delivery of strategic objectives.
- Contribute to business development by identifying and progressing opportunities to promote the firm in the marketplace.
- Act as a "go-to" technical expert in compliance issues, providing guidance to the wider team.
- Oversee both compliance and ad hoc advisory work for the compliance team.
- Brief, support and develop staff through delegation of work, technical training, and ongoing mentoring.
- Share technical expertise across the firm and facilitate the development of connected service lines.
- Maintain and enhance long-standing, trusted client relationships on behalf of the firm.
- Professional tax qualification (CA, ATT, CTA, STEP or equivalent).
- Significant experience in private client tax compliance, with exposure to advisory work.
- Strong technical expertise and the ability to undertake independent research.
- Proven experience handling a complex client portfolio with strong engagement skills.
- Demonstrable leadership and team management experience.
- Experience with tax software (preferably CCH) and research tools such as Tolley's Guidance.
