Private Client Legal Secretary - Merry Hill

An established and highly respected law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join its busy Private Client Department near Dudley.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and organised Legal Secretary to become part of a supportive and professional team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality secretarial and administrative support to fee earners while delivering exceptional client service across a range of private client matters.

The department advises clients on Wills, Probate, Estate Administration, Trusts and Lasting Powers of Attorney, offering a varied and rewarding workload within a well-established team.

Key Responsibilities

As a Private Client Legal Secretary, duties will include:

  • Preparing, formatting and amending legal documents, correspondence and reports
  • Audio typing and transcription of dictations with a high degree of accuracy
  • Managing fee earners' diaries, appointments and email correspondence
  • Liaising professionally with clients, Solicitors, third parties and external organisations
  • Maintaining organised electronic and paper filing systems
  • Assisting with document management, data entry and general administrative support
  • Producing and updating spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel
  • Prioritising workloads effectively to meet deadlines and support the wider team
  • Providing a professional and client-focused service at all times
Candidate Requirements

You will possess:

  • Previous experience as a Legal Secretary within a Private Client department or a similar legal support role
  • Strong audio typing and document production skills
  • Excellent organisational and administrative abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to manage competing priorities in a busy legal environment
  • A professional, positive and client-focused approach
