Prison Officer post at HMP Woodhill, Milton Keynes. This role offers a pathway into the Civil Service, potential visa sponsorship for Skilled Workers, and long term career stability. The role is physically demanding and requires passing a medical and fitness assessment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety, security, and order inside the prison environment.
• Facilitate rehabilitation and positive outcomes for those in jail.
• Work different shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays.
• Act as a peacekeeper, counsellor, or teacher as required during the day.
• Maintain teamwork and assist colleagues to keep the prison safe.

Eligibility Criteria

• Must be 18 years old at the start of employment.
• Must meet the Civil Service nationality requirements.
• Must pass a medical and fitness assessment.
• Must meet the required vision standard in both eyes.
• Must have hearing to an acceptable standard without hearing aids.
• Must hold a suitable right to reside and work in the UK.
• Must undergo a Counter Terrorism Check (CTC) and prove 3 years' UK residency.

Pay

Weekly training: 37 hours/week. After training, options to work 37, 39, or 41 hours per week. Salary varies accordingly:
• 37 hours: £37,246 per year
• 39 hours: £97,375 per year
• 41 hours: £41,503 per year
