Your newday-to-day will be exciting and diverse by applying the principlesof Systems Engineering across the entire engineering developmentlifecycle as you join in developing radar systems used by those whoserve and protect us.

What you'll be doing:
  • Developing novelsolutions to evolving technical challenges and emerging issues forcomplex Radar Systems that our customers and end-user communitiesare facing
  • Applying a breadth of knowledge, skills andexperience of Systems Engineering principles, techniques andgovernance to steer and develop technical solutions and resolveengineering issues
  • Conducting systemdesign analysis to manage trade-offs of system parameters tocharacterise and specify robust productdesign
  • Leading the decomposition of requirements to systemand sub-system level and manage these in an approved toolset suchas IBM DOORS Next
  • Be a technical focuspoint with a holistic understanding of a whole system solutionleading analysis activities and system design decisions andproviding guidance to ownteam
  • Collaborating with specialists across differentengineering disciplines including electronics, electrical,mechanical and software to direct and realise overarching systemdesign solutions
  • Directing andundertaking system integration, test planning andexecution
  • Defining and articulating system acceptancestrategies and acceptance evidence demonstrating system performanceacross a wide range of operational scenarios to internal andexternalstakeholders Through these activities you will build yourpersonal profile with senior stakeholders and grow a diverseknowledge base inengineering
Your skillsand experiences:

Essential:
  • A good understanding insome of the following subject areas; signal processing, targettrack extraction, object classification algorithms, system andsensor resourceoptimisation
  • A good understanding of factors that can affect thereal-world performance of sensing systems and how these can impactthe accuracy and timeliness of measurements in order to meetchallenging design objectives andrequirements Demonstrates understanding and experience ofSystems Engineering which could include knowledge of SystemsEngineering standards (e.g., ISO15288) Experience of presenting both technical andnon-technical information in a formalsetting

The Radar SystemsEngineering team:

You will be working as a Principal Systems Engineerwithin our close-knit multi-function radar team ofinter-disciplinary engineers, evolving our radar portfolio ofexisting and brand-new radar products to address emerging andfuture threats.
