Principal React Front-End Engineer

A Principal React Front End Engineer is required on a fully remote 12month FTC to provide technical leadership for customer-facing web platforms at a leading UK healthcare organisation. This role is ideal for a senior engineer who combines deep React expertise with architectural vision and the ability to influence teams at scale.

You will take ownership of Front End strategy across a modernising platform used daily by customers, shaping how React, TypeScript, and micro Front End architecture are applied as the organisation expands internationally and invests heavily in engineering excellence.

You will -

• Set technical direction for large-scale React applications, ensuring long-term scalability and maintainability.
• Act as a hands-on technical leader, mentoring engineers and raising Front End engineering standards.
• Drive improvements in performance, resilience, accessibility, and developer experience across teams.
• Partner closely with architects, product leaders, UX, and DevOps to align Front End strategy with business goals.
• Influence best practices around testing, CI/CD, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript patterns.
• Strong command of modern React patterns (hooks, state management, testing, and application architecture).
• Experience designing scalable Front End platforms using TypeScript, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
• A pragmatic, strategic mindset with the confidence to challenge, guide, and improve engineering outcomes.
