Principal Product Owner (CMS Specialist)

Location: Hybrid (London or Corby)

RS Group is seeking a Principal Product Owner (CMS Specialist) to lead the vision, strategy, and execution of our global Content Management System (CMS). This is a pivotal role in transforming the CMS from a core business utility into a strategic growth enabler that powers world-class content experiences across all channels.

As the domain expert for our CMS, you'll combine deep technical knowledge with strong leadership to drive adoption, innovation, and continuous improvement. Partnering across product, technology, marketing, and commercial teams, you'll ensure seamless integration of the CMS into our broader ecosystem, enabling impactful omnichannel growth and supporting hundreds of global users.

With a strong focus on AI, automation, and scalability, you'll unlock new efficiencies, enhance content personalisation, and empower teams to deliver content that drives measurable business outcomes. This role is both strategic and hands-on, requiring visionary thinking, technical fluency, and exceptional stakeholder management.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Define the CMS Strategy & Roadmap - Own and deliver the global strategy, aligning with business priorities and enabling wider adoption through processes, training, and enablement.
  • Enable Business Growth - Ensure the CMS underpins seamless, value-rich customer content to support our omnichannel growth ambitions.
  • Build a Centre of Excellence - Lead a best-in-class CMS community, fostering engagement, knowledge-sharing, and high satisfaction among global users.
  • Champion AI & Automation - Drive AI-enabled localisation, content generation, and workflow enhancements to boost efficiency and scale.
  • Enhance Systems & Quality - Collaborate with Datagraph, Content Systems, and NPI teams to deliver upgrades, enhancements, and improved content consumption channels.
  • Shape Technology Futures - Contribute to RS's wider technology transformation, including digital commerce initiatives and the decommissioning of legacy platforms.
  • Drive Change & Adoption - Inspire global teams to adopt CMS processes, delivering against the company's customer growth strategy.
  • Develop Patterns & Frameworks - Create and own frameworks for content publishing, ensuring quality, scalability, and consistency.
  • Build Business Cases - Stay at the cutting edge of CMS and content trends, demonstrating ROI for continuous investment and evolution.
  • Support Segmentation & Personalisation - Enable targeted publishing through integration with the Customer Data Platform.
  • Measure Impact - Establish clear metrics to track adoption, content performance, and value creation.
  • Stakeholder Management - Engage and influence global stakeholders (up to VP level), building strong relationships and alignment.
  • Ensure Compliance & Security - Oversee GDPR, CCPA, and security requirements for all CMS operations.
  • Quality & Documentation - Maintain robust QA processes, user documentation, and technical specifications.
About You

You're a proven leader in CMS product ownership, combining deep technical expertise with the ability to influence, inspire, and drive adoption across global organisations. You understand how to leverage headless CMS architectures to deliver exceptional, personalised content experiences, and you thrive at the intersection of technology, customer experience, and business growth.

What You'll Bring
  • Proven CMS expertise - 8+ years leading CMS implementations and adoption at scale (Contentful experience highly desirable).
  • Global delivery experience - Skilled at operating complex systems for hundreds of users across international markets.
  • Strategic mindset - Ability to define long-term vision while delivering practical outcomes.
  • Change leadership - Strong influencing skills, inspiring adoption and driving behavioural change at all levels.
  • Vendor management - Skilled at building strong agency/vendor partnerships and maximising ROI.
  • Analytical & data-driven - Confident using data to inform priorities, demonstrate ROI, and support decision-making.
  • Excellent communication - Adept at engaging stakeholders at all levels, including VP and executive leadership.
  • Agile ways of working - Experience in Agile environments, ideally certified (CSPO or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, Trello, or Airtable.
  • Advanced certification in Agile or Product Management.
