Principal Platform Engineer
Posted 7 days 9 hours ago by LinuxRecruit
Are you looking for a role where you can lead teams, manage stakeholders, still get hands on, and be the go to person when things get tricky? You're in the right place. You'll be joining a global organisation, but within a business unit of around 300 engineers across the UK, giving you the stability of a major player with the agility and autonomy of a scale up. You'll be part of the Centre of Excellence for Platform Engineering, helping clients modernise platforms at scale: cloud first architecture, large scale Kubernetes, migrating legacy apps to microservices, and building systems that actually work, not just installing Kubernetes and hoping for the best. You'll shape platform strategy, guide engineering decisions, and roll up your sleeves when needed - leadership with credibility, not just PowerPoint. And they invest in their people: 260 of their 300 engineers have achieved the CKA qualification, fully funded. Also, there's a new initiative where all new starters can reap up to three paid Kubernetes certifications in their first year.
Qualifications- Cloud - AWS at scale
- Microservices - designing, migrating, and operating large scale systems
- Observability & Reliability - monitoring, alerting, resilience
- Mentorship & Leadership - guiding teams and sharing best practices
In return, you'll work on cutting edge tech, lead talented teams, and truly shape platform engineering across a major organisation, all while enjoying a company that invests in your growth.
If you're ready to take ownership, push boundaries, and make a real impact, this could be the perfect role. Apply below or send me email on .
