- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar mechanical design role
- Strong experience with LTHW, MTHW and steam heating systems
- Solid understanding of UK & European design standards and legislation
- Confident communicator with strong organisational and problem solving skills
- Ability to manage your own workload while contributing to wider team objectives
- Experience with site surveys, energy assessments, audits and service coordination
- Fluency in written and spoken English
Desirable
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit and BIM 360
- Experience using IES, Hysopt or similar simulation software
- Knowledge of decarbonisation strategies and energy efficiency measures
- Hands on experience with heat pump technologies (including >1MW systems)
- Understanding of refrigerants, heat pump optimisation and system design
- Experience with solar thermal, district heating or large scale energy networks
- Experience in data centre applications (HTG & CHW systems)
- BREEAM experience and building energy monitoring/verification
What you'll get in return
This is an excellent opportunity for a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer who wants to take the lead on cutting edge decarbonisation projects while working in a forward thinking, innovative environment. You'll have real influence, strong career progression and the chance to help shape the next generation of sustainable mechanical design - all from a modern facility in Banbridge.
