The Role:

An opportunity to take a lead engineering position within a large, well-established financial services business undergoing significant technology transformation.

This role sits at the intersection of architecture, software engineering and technical leadership. You'll influence engineering standards, shape technical direction and work on platforms that support high-volume, business-critical services. It's a position for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, improving engineering capability and driving better outcomes through technology.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Leading the design and delivery of scalable, secure and resilient software solutions
• Partnering with architects and engineering teams to define technical direction and long-term platform strategy
• Driving engineering best practice across development, testing, deployment and operational processes
• Building modern cloud-based applications and services using contemporary engineering approaches
• Improving automation across build, testing and release pipelines
• Acting as a technical authority for complex design decisions and platform evolution

What You Bring:

• Strong background designing, building and delivering enterprise-scale software platforms
• Deep expertise with Java and Spring-based development
• Experience designing APIs, distributed systems and microservice architectures
• Strong understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
• Commercial experience working with AWS
• Proven ability to influence engineering standards and work across multiple stakeholders and delivery teams
• Strong stakeholder management skills across both business lines and technology
