Principal Flood Risk Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Principal Flood Risk Engineer to join a team in Manchester, with other UK offices considered. You will work as part of a large flood and hydrology team on a wide range of environmental, civil and water projects.

As a key member of the Flood Risk team, we are looking for a leader who has experience with flood risk assessments, flood models and environmental planning. You will lead the engineering team working on private and public sector infrastructure projects nationally, providing drainage strategies and natural flood risk management across a portfolio of flood alleviation schemes, sewer leakage and models, and master planning for housing developers. Projects will range from £15,000 to £100m.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering team on private and public sector infrastructure projects.

• Deliver drainage strategies and natural flood risk management solutions.

• Conduct flood risk assessments and produce reports.

• Produce business cases for internal and external partners.

• Engage in business development where possible.

Qualifications

• Experience in project management and leading technical delivery and design of flood risk projects.
• Experience writing flood risk assessments and reports.
• Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred).
• 6 8 years of experience in flood risk engineering.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering infrastructure projects within budget and timeline.
• Experience with software Civil 3D, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Tuflow and Flood Modeller Pro.
• Interest or experience in business development.
