Principal Environment

Stanmore is seeking an experienced Environmental Principal to join our Growth and Sustainability team. This pivotal role provides specialist advice, technical support, and assurance across our operations to ensure environmental compliance and improve performance. You will advise and support site environmental teams and drive consistency in environmental management practices across our assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the development and implementation of Stanmore's Environmental Management System (EMS).
• Monitor and ensure compliance with environmental approvals, permits, and regulatory obligations.
• Provide support, technical advice and guidance to site environmental personnel
• Provide technical guidance on rehabilitation aligned to Progressive Rehabilitation and Closure Plans (PRCP) and track closure metrics.
• Conduct environmental compliance reviews and report findings to internal stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, alignment and efficiency across sites.

About You

• Tertiary qualification in an environmental discipline.
• 8-10 years' experience in operational mining/resources environmental roles.
• Strong knowledge of environmental approvals, permits, and EMS standards (ISO14001).
• Experience in environmental auditing and assurance.
• Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to influence and collaborate with site-based teams.

Additional Requirements

• Environmental internal auditor training.
• ICAM or similar incident investigation training (preferred).
