Job Description

Position Overview

The GaN Intrinsic Reliability Engineer - Limerick, Ireland - will provide technical leadership in the reliability characterization, modeling, and qualification of GaN and wide bandgap (WBG) semiconductor devices. This role is critical to de risking GaN product development for 100V and 650V technologies and supporting ADI's high voltage power semiconductor roadmap.

Responsibilities
  • Drive the GaN intrinsic reliability strategy across 100V-650V technologies and align it with product roadmaps.
  • Define and execute reliability qualification methodologies, including HTGB, HTRB, switching, and transient stress testing.
  • Lead physics of failure investigations, identify degradation mechanisms, and drive root cause resolution.
  • Develop and validate lifetime and reliability models that account for voltage, temperature, and switching dependencies for GaN devices.
  • Champion product de risking activities in collaboration with design and product teams, ensuring early reliability coverage.
  • Provide technical leadership and decision making authority on reliability risks, guardbands, and design recommendations.
  • Develop and enhance intrinsic reliability test infrastructure, including ATE based and custom stress systems.
  • Define and advance next generation reliability methodologies for GaN and other WBG technologies (e.g., SiC, AlGaN).
Qualifications
  • PhD or MSc in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Semiconductor Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10+years' experience in semiconductor reliability with significant focus on GaN or WBG devices.
  • Strong background in reliability qualification, physics of failure analysis, and modeling.
  • Experience with high temperature, high temperature bias, and switching stress testing is preferred.
