Primary Tutor

1:1 Tuition PAYE Monday-Friday (Full-time or Part-time hours)

New Chapter Tuition is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Primary Tutor to deliver the UK primary curriculum, with a focus on numeracy and literacy, to primary-aged learners across Croydon. This is a 1:1 tutoring role, supporting pupils to build strong foundations in reading, writing, and maths.

You will work with children who may have learning gaps, low confidence, SEN, anxiety, or disrupted education. Using a child-centred, structured approach, you will deliver high-quality tuition that improves attainment, confidence, and engagement.

Sessions take place 1:1 in homes, libraries, or learning hubs, depending on learner needs.

• Deliver 1:1 primary curriculum tuition in numeracy and literacy (KS1/KS2)
• Plan and adapt sessions in line with national curriculum expectations
• Support reading fluency, writing skills, spelling, and comprehension
• Develop number sense, problem-solving, and mathematical reasoning
• Build confidence, motivation, and positive learning behaviours
• Track progress and provide feedback to families and professionals

• Experience delivering the UK primary curriculum
• Strong subject knowledge in numeracy and literacy
• Experience working with KS1 and/or KS2 pupils
• Patient, supportive, and encouraging approach
• Ability to differentiate for a range of learning needs
