Job Description
Job Overview

Axcis is partnering with a small primary school near Tortworth, South Gloucestershire, to fill the role of a Teaching Assistant, starting as soon as possible. The position is full time, Monday to Friday school hours (08:15 - 15:30) and will continue through at least Easter, potentially until the end of the academic year.

Responsibilities
  • Support two children in Years 4 and 5 who have SEND needs, including Autism, ADHD and behavioural challenges.
  • Provide one to one assistance and help manage classroom behaviour.
  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to implement individual learning plans.
  • Maintain a safe and positive learning environment for the children.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children with SEND, ideally in a primary school setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to remain calm and resilient when handling challenging behaviour.
  • Reliable, committed and adaptable.
  • Current or willingness to obtain an up to date DBS check (Axcis will process one if required) along with other mandatory compliance checks per DfE guidelines.
  • Excellent teamwork and problem solving abilities.
