Primary SEND Support Assistant - KS2

Overview

spire People is recruiting a SEND Support Assistant for a welcoming primary school in Salford (M6). This role focuses on supporting pupils in KS2 who require additional academic and emotional support. The school has a strong inclusive ethos and works closely with families and external professionals to ensure pupils receive the support they need to succeed.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with SEND on a 1:1 and small-group basis
• Assisting with differentiated Maths and English tasks
• Supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs
• Helping pupils build confidence, independence, and resilience
• Monitoring progress and feeding back to teaching staff
• Supporting transitions and unstructured times

We Are Looking For Someone Who

• Has recent experience supporting SEND pupils in a primary setting
• Is confident working with KS2-aged children
• Has strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
• Can adapt support strategies to meet individual needs
• Works well as part of a wider school team
