Primary English Teacher - Brunei

m2r Education are looking for Primary English Teachers to join an exciting Ministry of Education project in Brunei starting in January 2026!

Brunei Darussalam is a small, peaceful country on the island of Borneo in South East Asia. It is surrounded by pristine tropical jungle and beaches with temperatures around 27 - 30 degrees all year.

In Brunei, Standard Malay, is the official language, but English is viewed as the principal language of business. English as a medium of instruction is mandatory for all students from primary school to secondary school.

Over 200 expatriate teachers join each year and provide ongoing quality support and assurance. Teachers work with more than 20,000 students across Brunei in more than 80 per cent of Brunei government schools.

Experience / Qualifications:

• Hold a degree and Qualified Teacher Status/teacher accreditation (PGCE, Bed, DipT etc.) A TEFL certificate is not sufficient.
• Have a minimum 3 years relevant classroom teaching experience post qualification with significant experience of teaching in a early primary/ foundation stage/Key Stage 1 settings.
• Be able to drive. Note that a driving test (manual or automatic) must be undertaken in order to obtain a Bruneian driving licence.
