Job Description
Preclinical Research Scientist

Our client, a growing medical device company is seeking a Preclinical Research Scientist to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a hands on, research focused role involving experimental design, testing, data analysis, and scientific publication. As a Preclinical Research Scientist you will work closely with internal teams and clinical collaborators to generate high quality data and contribute to research outputs. This role is ideal for a candidate who is enthusiastic about experimental research, data analysis, and scientific publication, and who wants to translate research into real world patient impact.

Responsibilities
  • Design, execute, and analyse preclinical experiments to generate high quality scientific data
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and compliant experimental records and datasets
  • Lead preparation of peer reviewed manuscripts and support physician led publications
  • Support clinical research for first in human and post market studies
  • Plan and conduct in vitro and benchtop testing, including neurovascular occlusion models
  • Contribute scientific content supporting sales enablement and physician training
  • Work closely with clinical collaborators, and internal teams to align research with clinical needs
  • Coordinate conference activity, including preparation and logistics
  • Present scientific findings internally and externally, including at international conferences when appropriate
  • Manage the organisation and tracking of research and demonstration devices
  • Assist with sourcing devices and materials for testing and evaluation
  • Provide general scientific and operational support to the wider R&D and clinical teams
Requirements
  • MSc or PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Stroke Research, or a related field
  • Proven experience in experimental design, execution, and data analysis
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail in maintaining test records and datasets
  • Strong scientific writing skills, with experience authoring or co authoring peer reviewed publications
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience with in vitro or benchtop models, particularly in cardiovascular or neurovascular applications
  • Knowledge of stroke, neurovascular devices, or endovascular therapies
  • Experience collaborating directly with clinicians or physician researchers
  • Experience presenting research at national or international scientific conferences
  • Familiarity with medical device research environments and regulatory driven evidence generation
