Job Description

We are recruiting a Part time General Practice Nurse to work for a busy Multidisciplinary Practice in the Blackrock surrounding area, Co Dublin.

Suitable candidates MUST have previous experience working in a GP setting to apply for this role.

The GP Nurse is responsible for delivering high quality, patient centered nursing care within the practice setting.

Responsibilities Clinical
  • Conduct patient assessments including vital signs, medical history, and lifestyle factors
  • Perform wound care, dressings, and suture removal
  • Administer vaccinations and immunisations in line with national guidelines
  • Carry out cervical screening (smear tests)
  • Assist with minor surgical procedures
  • Manage chronic disease clinics (e.g., diabetes, asthma, COPD, cardiovascular conditions)
  • Perform phlebotomy (blood draws) and ECGs
Administrative Duties
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records (electronic and paper-based)
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR and confidentiality standards
  • Manage stock control of clinical supplies and vaccines
  • Participate in audit and quality improvement initiatives
Infection Control & Safety
  • Adhere to infection prevention and control protocols
  • Ensure clinical areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained
  • Follow health and safety regulations and best practices
Qualifications & Requirements Essential
  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) with active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
  • Minimum 2-3 years post-registration clinical experience
  • Previous experience working in a General Practice setting
  • Competency in phlebotomy, immunisation, and wound care
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Salary: €32ph. Hours will start off c 20 per week, some negotiation possible around this for the right candidate.

  • Tuesdays 8.30am- 5pm/option 4.30pm
  • Wednesday 1.30pm-4.30pm
  • Thursdays 8.30am-5.30pm
