Practice Nurse

Salary negotiable depending on experience

The opportunity has arisen for an experienced RGN to join our friendly Practice to provide comprehensive nursing service to our patients in accordance with QOF and CQC guidelines.

You will have a patient-focused approach to improving the quality of care and your team will deliver through innovative techniques and technologies.

The role will primarily focus upon chronic disease management, wound care and Adult/Child immunisations with a wide scope to develop the role in the future.

Main duties of the job

Therole will primarily focus upon all areas of practice nursing including Adult & Baby imms, women'shealth including cervical cytology, ECG's, health promotion, phlebotomy, woundcare including compression and ABPI.

An interest or experience in Diabetes wouldbe welcomed (development/ support would be provided).

Job responsibilities

Mainduties of the job

Assistin and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed.

Cervical Cytology & Contraception

Removalof Sutures & post op wound care

ECG's

Venepuncture

Routineimmunisations/Childhood immunisations

Chaperoningand assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by anotherclinician

Requestingpathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs

Interest or experience in Diabetes.

Followingagreed clinical protocols with referral to GPs as appropriate

Person Specification Experience

• Experience working within a nursing team
• Competent in nursing duties required for the post
• Ability to work alone and part of the multi-disciplinary team
• Experience of working in a GP practice
• Experience of System1 clinical system

Qualifications

• To be a registered nurse with a NMC registration
• To be competent in all nursing duties required for the post
• Cervical smear screening
