OverviewThe Darlington Site Office is recruiting Power Reactor Site Inspectors for the Darlington Nuclear Generating Station and the Darlington New Nuclear Project sites at the REG5 level.
This role involves staff recruitment for future similar positions, including term, acting, assignment and indeterminate positions.

Physical onsite presence at the Darlington Site Office will be required 3 to 4 days per week.

Who You AreAs an inspector, the decisions you make directly impact the health and safety of Canadians. You communicate effectively and respectfully with stakeholders, analyze situations, and understand that compliance extends beyond basic regulations.
What You'll DoReporting to the Power Reactor Site Office Supervisor (PRSOS), you will provide regulatory oversight and conduct inspections at the nuclear site to ensure compliance with the Nuclear Safety and Control Act, Regulations, Licence, and Licence Condition Handbook.
- Assist with planning, preparing, organising, and participating in compliance activities, including emergency event response.
- Assist in regulatory inspections, recording findings, analysing data, and preparing and finalising reports with guidance.
- Assist with monitoring licencee performance alongside senior inspection staff.
- Provide support to senior staff in preparing and analysing information for compliance verification activities.
- Education: Graduation with a degree from a recognised university specialising in Science or Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- Language Requirements: English essential.
- Experience: Providing support with audits or inspections including planning, participation, drafting technical reports, working at an industrial facility (construction, inspection, operations, maintenance, or engineering).
- Knowledge: Design, construction, commissioning, operation, maintenance, testing, safety assessment or licensing of Class I or II facilities; application of risk information to determine safety significance of compliance oversight findings; CNSC regulatory requirements applicable to nuclear power plants; safety and control area framework.
- Ability: Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing with various stakeholders.
- Additional Experience: Experience as an inspector in a regulatory organisation; knowledge of IAEA safety principles.
