We're looking for an experienced, solutions-driven Engineer with strong Power BI expertise to join our clients brand new BI team. You'll be involved in designing and delivering data pipelines and analytics solutions that underpin business intelligence, reporting, and visualisation across digital services.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Designing and maintaining production-ready data pipelines supporting Power BI reporting models.
• Building secure, efficient, automated data flows from structured and unstructured sources.
• Developing and optimising Power BI datasets, dataflows, dashboards, and paginated reports.
• ETL/ELT data integration solutions using tools such as Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or Dataflows.
• Translating business needs into robust data models and intuitive Power BI visualisations.
• Delivering DAX performance tuning and Power BI model optimisation.
• Managing version-controlled, well-documented Power BI assets.
• Contributing to governance frameworks (certified datasets, role-based access, workspace strategy).

Experience

• Experience in Power BI.
• Proven expertise developing Power BI dashboards, reports, and DAX measures.
• Strong SQL proficiency and experience with relational/analytical databases.
• Familiarity with Power Query (M) and advanced data transformations.

Desirable

• Python programming skills.
• Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow, dbt, or Dataform.
• Hands-on experience with Azure data services (Data Lake, Synapse, Data Factory).
• Understanding of data modelling techniques (star/snowflake schema).
• Knowledge of DevOps/DataOps applied to Power BI CI/CD and workspace automation.
