General Description
An exciting opportunity is available for an enthusiastic and self-motivated scientist to join the laboratory of Dr Katerina Toropova at the Sir William Dunn School of Pathology, University of Oxford. The position focuses on structural biology research within a dynamic and collaborative academic environment. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research activities, working both independently and as part of a team to advance scientific understanding in the field. The role requires effective engagement with colleagues and the ability to manage research responsibilities efficiently, ensuring high-quality outputs and adherence to project timelines.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should hold, or be close to completing, a PhD/DPhil in a relevant scientific discipline. Candidates must demonstrate a strong background in structural biology or a closely related field, along with evidence of research capability and academic achievement.
Required expertise/skills
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to handle confidential matters with tact and discretion
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders
- Team-oriented approach with the ability to liaise across overlapping areas of work
- General understanding of health and safety requirements, with willingness to develop further expertise
- Experience working in a higher education or research environment
- Experience managing administrative processes or staff
- Familiarity with health and safety procedures
- Experience supporting or servicing committees
Salary details
£39,424 - £47,779 per annum (Research Grade 7)
