Postdoc Research Fellow Lv 1or 2, UCD temp until 30 Apr 2027

University College Dublin School of Chemistry is inviting applications for a temporary Post Doctoral Research Fellow (Level 1 or Level 2).

Apply to work on the EU project INERRANT, funded by the European Union, coordinated by FORTH. You will join a consortium of leading research institutions and industry partners across Europe to develop next generation Li ion batteries.

As a Post Doctoral Research Fellow, you will contribute to the synthesis and development of Ni rich cathodes and polyanionic cathodes, with solid state synthesis and battery cell preparation, testing and analysis experience required.

Materials will be screened by X ray diffraction; quantitative analysis of these data is necessary.

PD1 Salary Range: €46,805 - €53,391 per annum; PD2 Salary Range: €54,850 - €59,654 per annum. Salary contingent on qualifications and experience.

Design, synthesize and characterize battery cathode materials. Perform solid state synthesis, cell assembly, electrochemical testing, and X ray diffraction analysis.

• PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science or related field.
• Experience in solid state synthesis and battery cell preparation.
• Experience in electrochemical testing and quantitative X ray diffraction analysis.
• Experience as an early stage researcher (PD1) or post PD1 (PD2), with total postdoctoral experience not exceeding 4 years for PD1 and 6 years for PD2.
• Communication, planning and organizational skills.
