- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in a policy, legal, Trust & Safety, or technology environment.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners, including Product, Engineering, Legal, and Operations teams.
- Experience with data science principles and their application to policy development and enforcement.
- Experience navigating tools, systems, and emerging technologies.
- JD, MBA, or Master's degree.
- Experience with the development, implementation, and maintenance of policy.
- Ability to operate in ambiguous, high-impact environments while balancing speed, quality, and risk.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to track deadlines and manage complex processes.
- Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail in an ever changing environment.
Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know how, excellent problem solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you're a big picture thinker and strategic team player with a passion for doing what's right. You work globally and cross functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed-with urgency. And you take pride in knowing that every day you are working hard to promote trust in Google and ensuring the highest levels of user safety.
As a key member of the Trust & Safety team, you will own the end to end delivery and scaling of our product policies. This is a critical priority for T&S leadership, and your work will directly impact user safety and platform integrity. Your responsibilities will span the full policy lifecycle, including initial launch, scaling, performance monitoring, feedback driven iteration, and ongoing support for enforcement and escalations.
Responsibilities- Identify policy issues that may affect Google and understand their impact, and manage high impact policy escalations and suggest improvements.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate policy implementation through the development of comprehensive knowledge bases, detailed training materials, and ongoing calibration.
- Establish and maintain high quality "golden label" datasets to support model training, safety evaluators, and rigorous policy testing across violative, non violative, and edge case scenarios.
- Monitor ongoing performance trends and manage complex escalations to identify policy gaps, while conducting regular industry analysis to benchmark and pressure test our safety standards.
