Overview

Excellent opportunity for career progression. A&B is a diverse place to work and supports clinicians that are enthusiastic and forward thinking. We are looking to recruit a band 6 podiatrist to Cowal & Bute, providing clinical cover to Dunoon, Isle of Bute and surrounding areas. Dunoon is easily accessible by ferry from Inverclyde. Bute is accessed via a ferry from Wemyss Bay. Both Ferry terminals are a short drive from Glasgow and Inverclyde. May also require travel between other sites for upskilling and clinical support. The post is based in a community hospital, allowing continued inter-professional links to multiple health professions.

Our community teams are highly skilled and are able to provide all aspects of podiatry care including MSK, care of the high risk foot, wound management and health promotion.

This requires the successful applicant to have the experience and confidence to work as part of a team but also independently.

Responsibilities and scope

The Podiatry post involves contributing to a broad podiatry service in the community setting, including:

  • Provide clinical cover to Dunoon, Isle of Bute and surrounding areas.
  • Demonstrate professional and clinical knowledge with understanding of clinical governance and its application.
  • Carry out nail surgery, in rural clinics, and support administration of local anaesthetic.
  • Work as part of a team and independently as required while maintaining high standards of care.
Qualifications and requirements
  • BSc Honours qualification in Podiatry and HCPC registration (required for application).
  • Qualified in administration of local anaesthetic and confident in carrying out nail surgery.
  • Full and current driving licence.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to prioritise, plan and organise clinical workload; and ability to work autonomously as well as in a wider team.
